RAILROAD DAY FESTIVAL 2026 FUNdraiser!
"We did quite well with our booth on RR Day", reports Friends of the Alberton Library. "We took in about $400 for the book fund!!!!"

+ A big thank you the Friends who worked the booth:  Judy Arledge, Shirley Moberg, Jayne Franklin, Val Mills, Sandye Adams and Pam Brown.

+ Thank you to all our wonderful donors:  Judy Bungarz, Brian Crowley, Hindu Hillbilly, Crescent Ridge Farm,  Lorraine Auchsun, Murdoch's, Wood and Welding, Ron Mason, Trax Bar, Valley Grocery, Buck'n Bull, Farm to Table Massage, River Edge and Sporty's.

+ Thanks to the community and Friends of the Library who stopped by and played Shake-a-Day.  It was a good time.

+ Thanks to our wonderful librarian, Blue, who put lots of time and energy into making sure this was a success.

I'd also like to acknowledge Melissa Pendley
[our late substitute librarian], who's energy, ideas, support of the library, and friendship are greatly missed. The idea of the Friends of the Library doing a Shake-a-Day booth for Railroad Day was hers - and it was a good one!
SUMMER READING PROGRAM 2026
Summer Reading at the Alberton Branch Library begins June 9th and ends August 6th. Here's the schedule.
The RUTH SYPIAN Garden blooms outside the Alberton Public Library (entrance from Park side) on Railroad Avenue in the spring of 2020.
NEW SHELVING & CARPETING
A heartfelt thanks to our work crews who helped pack up all the books and videos (130+ boxes), front desk, chairs, and computer desks in early February of 2020.  With the help of the Petty Creek Ranch boys and our staff, we moved out and back in every single bookcase!
Thank you, too, for those who helped feed us.  The new carpet in the Alberton Library looks fantastic.

The new bookcases were built by Ralph and Steve Gregory. Thanks!
